Attending the major events of the country gives you an incredible experience. With those events, you come to know more about the cultural values of that place. Be it a sports event or entertainment event you will love attending all of those. You may have missed some of the fantastic UK summer events up till now. But don’t worry, we have come up with the calendar list of the significant events that are going to happen in the upcoming months.
But before that, let us give you a snippet of the events you may have miss or attend (maybe!).
At the Starting of the year
- In January, the events that took place were the New year’s parade, Celtic Connections, Burns’ Night, and NBA London game 2019.

- UK Summer Events 2019 included trooping the color, eid festival, London tech week, Major League Baseball London Series, Art night, west end Live, London Symphony Orchestra, Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships, Wireless festival, Pride in London, Cricket World Cup final, The London triathlon, and BBC proms. These were the events that were during June and July.

Brighton Pride is going to be held between the 2nd to the 4th of August. This festival starts with a parade that has a dazzling view. Then it moves towards Preston Park where the main stage entertainment, dance tents, cabarets, funfair, family area, and a market is there.
Edinburgh Festival Fringe starting on the 2nd of August will last till the 26th of August. This is the world’s largest art festival in Scotland. This festival features theatre, comedy, circus, physical theatres, musicals, operas, cabarets, exhibitions, and other events. Here you will find a world-famous artist to the struggling artists showcasing their talents.
Bristol International Balloon Fiesta is the largest outdoor event held at the city’s Ashton Court Estate. During this festival, you will find 100 balloons freed in the open sky at a time, and after dark, the mesmerizing firework will steal your heart. It is a four day (8th-11th August) festival providing a fun package for the whole family.
The garlic festival, reading festival, Leeds festival, Notting hill carnival, and world gravy wrestling championships are the other festivals that will be held in August.
British Science Festival is a science festival held for six days including events like lectures and debates for adults, hands-on activities for schools and families, comedy, theatre, and expeditions. This event gathers many scientists, journalists, and thousands of people.
Ironman Wales is considered as one of the world’s most challenging races that take in the beaches and fortresses.
York Food and Drink Festival is one of the most significant food festivals that celebrates the local and regional food and drinks during the ten days of the event. Here you will find events from food tasting, to cookery, to workshops.
Other festivals like the Jane Austen Festival, Blackpool Illuminations, and the last night of the proms are going to held in September.
World Shore Angling Championships is an international event that features the world’s top shore anglers that competes for the title of the world championship for both men and women. This championship will be from the 20th of October to the 27th of October.
Artes Mundi is an art festival known best for its biennial international exhibition and prize. It is also wales’ biggest contemporary visual art show. The artist at the end will receive the prize of 40,000 pounds the most extensive art prize in the UK and the most significant in the world.
Cheltenham Literature Festival will be celebrating its 70th anniversary this year. With this, we will see the launch of major books. There will be workshops, performances, and more than 500 talks on the topic of history, politics, food, sport, and fashion.
Turner prize 2019, BFI London film festival, melton Mowbray food festival, world conker championship, and wales rally GB are the other festivals this month.

Lumiere Light Festival is the largest light festival in the UK that invites local and international artists to showcase their talent. Also allows us to see the beauty of nature with a whole new experience. This year it is going to celebrate its 10th anniversary in Durham from where it originated.
Winter Wonderland is a favorite among all the families. It includes big top shows, the observational wheel, a considerable Christmas market, and the gentler rides for the younger children.
Longleat festivals of light and St. Andrews day are the other festivals that may attract you in November.
The Christmas Pudding Race is the wackiest race you will ever witness. In this race, people from schools or companies gather and start the race with the Christmas pudding on the paper plate. They have to go through the two slippery inflatables, balloons filled with flour, jets of foam, and limbo poles. To make it more complicated, they all participate in this race in fancy costumes.
The 31st of December
NewcastleGateshead winter festival and New year’s eve carnival are held in Newcastle, England where the Newcastle’s Ice Queen and her followers from the local community parade through the streets of Newcastle with the backdrop of early evening fireworks.
Hogmanay is another way of celebrating the eve of the 31st of December in Scotland. Celebrating it across the whole of Scotland. On this day there are open-air concerts, street parties, and fireworks, which make the Hogmanay festival most memorable.
